Handling upgrade problems

This section describes how to manage problems that occurred when you upgraded processes. You must resolve all warnings issued by the Process Upgrade Tool to ensure that upgraded processes continue to function correctly in LiveCycle ES2.5.

Note: When you upgrade any process by using the Process Upgrade Tool, you must also upgrade all dependent (child or parent) processes of that process.

Reviewing upgrade problems

Use the LiveCycle ES2.5 Process Upgrade Problems view to see and manage the problem messages that the Process Upgrade Tool provided during process upgrades. The view shows summary information about each problem and provides a check box that you can use to keep track of which problems have been fixed.

Each row in the table represents a problem. The following columns of information are provided:

Fixed:
A check box that you can use to track the status of upgrade problems that can be fixed manually

Description:
A brief message that describes the problem

Action:
If applicable, the action in the process to which the problem applies

Process Version:
The name of the process version that was being upgraded when the problem was generated

Note: Upgrade problems are stored on the local hard drive. Other developers who use instances of Workbench on different computers cannot see the upgrade problems.

Seeing detailed problem descriptions

Some upgrade problem messages provide detailed descriptions of the problem. The detailed description can provide more information about the cause of the problem. Before you decide how to fix an upgrade problem, you should first read the detailed description.

The detailed description is located in the Stack Trace box in the problem’s Properties dialog box.
