Auditing

Auditing is useful in organizations where standard operating procedures (SOPs) require tracking of when certain events occur during a review. For example, when a review stage starts and completes.

The Review, Commenting, and Approval building block provides an auditing mechanism. You can modify how auditing is performed. For instance, you can configure different levels of auditing. Various levels of auditing allow you to specify a set of actions to log during a review. You can also retrieve audit logs at a later time to check for compliancy and generate reports.

When you decide that auditing is a necessary, you enable auditing by specifying the name of the audit level in the review template. (See Configuring audits in Managed Review & Approval Solution Accelerator 9.5 Solution Guide .)

For example, you can audit the completion times of a review. In this scenario, you log when the stage starts and when a stage ends, but do not log other actions. However, for more regulated reviews, you can log all actions that occur during the review because they are important for building concise audit trails.
