LiveCycle Workflow
7.x defined the asynchronous and transient workflows types. However,
LiveCycle ES2.5 defines the long-lived and short-lived process types. When
LiveCycle 7.x environments are upgraded, the processes that are
based on LiveCycle 7.x workflows are given a type according to the
following table.
Workflow type
|
Corresponding process type
|
Asynchronous
|
Long-lived
|
Transient
|
Short-lived
|
Furthermore, all short-lived processes are given an identification
of -1. If your workflows used the process instance identification
to differentiate between transient process instances, you need to
modify the corresponding process so that it functions properly in
the LiveCycle ES2.5 environment.
Note:
Long-lived operations chained with short-lived
processes are not supported in LiveCycle ES2.5.
For more information about the properties of different process
types, see
Short-lived processes and long-lived processes
