Copying a Guide and Guide items

You can copy a Guide when you need different versions of a similar Guide. For example, copy an existing Guide to create a Guide for mobile devices.

You can also copy Guide items from a similar Guide.

Copy a Guide using Save As

When you copy a Guide using Save As, all the referenced assets are resolved. The reference assets can include image files, sample data, Guide extensions, and the data model.

Note: Avoid copying the Guide in the Applications view, because you must manually copy all referenced assets and preserve the relative paths.

  1. Open the Guide that you want to copy.

  2. Select File > Save As.

  3. Select the parent folder and specify the filename.

  4. Click OK.

Copy items from another Guide

You can copy items from one Guide and paste them in a similar Guide. You cannot undo the paste action.

You can copy the following items:

  • sections

  • panels

  • item groups
